(Knoxville, TN, September 7, 2022) "Resting Peacefully in the Smokies: Documenting the Veterans Buried in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park" is presented by speakers Joe Emert, Marilyn Childress, and Sheila Evans. When it was discovered, there was not a list of veterans buried in the GSMNP, a group was formed in 2020 to accumulate one. What started with 163 graves is now over 230 identified veteran burials, from the American Revolution to the Vietnam War. A 2020-2021 ETHS Award Winning Project.
