2014 Award of Distinction

The JCHS has worked diligently to ensure the continued availability of Campaign to Nowhere by David C. “Cleve” Smith, which covers Confederate General James Longstreet’s attempt to wrest control of Knoxville and East Tennessee from the Federal Army in the winter of 1863-1864.  With no digital format available, volunteers retyped the manuscript, proofed, and scanned maps and images.  Several representatives from JCHS were on hand to accept the award, including Mark Finchum, Karen Everett and Clay Patterson.
