Founder’s Day: A Celebration of 231 Years of Knoxville

The Historic House Museums of Knoxville (HHMK) and the East Tennessee Historical Society (ETHS) invite you to Founder’s Day: A Celebration of 231 Years of Knoxville at the East Tennessee History Center. During this celebration, HHMK reflects on the 40th anniversary of the 1982 World’s Fair in Knoxville with a special presentation by former Mayor Randy Tyree at 12:00 PM. Visitors can also enjoy Petros, an international popcorn buffet, and birthday cake. Attendees will have the opportunity to sign a birthday card for Knoxville, and enjoy free admission to the Museum of East Tennessee History, including the signature exhibition Voices of the Land: The People of East Tennessee and the temporary exhibition celebrating the 40th anniversary of the 1982 World’s Fair in Knoxville, You Should’ve Been There.” This event is FREE, but please RSVP at hhknoxville.org/foundersday.
